I had been looking forward to this gig for a long time. I was wanting to visit Cork, and Chewie has been one of my musical obsessions for a while. They&#8217;re on the list of my favourite bands after finding out about them on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.makethatatakerecords.com\/\">Make That A Take<\/a>&#8216;s compilations. So when they announced this gig, I decided it was my chance and bought a ticket back in June.<\/p>\n<p>I had the day off at work on Friday September 16th, so I took an early flight and got to Cork early in the morning. Cork is a beautiful city! I was lucky the weather was amazing and I visited all the places I had on my list (definitely recommend Blackrock Castle Observatory). I learned more about the history of the city and Ireland, learned some Irish to complement my Scots Gaelic lessons and several pints of Beamish and Murphy&#8217;s Stout were had.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, the gig was at Cyprus Avenue, in the center of Cork City. The first band to play was <a href=\"https:\/\/minustenthousandhours.bandcamp.com\/\">Minus Ten Thousand Hours<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 100%; height: 120px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/track=1208770278\/size=large\/bgcol=333333\/linkcol=e99708\/tracklist=false\/artwork=small\/transparent=true\/\" seamless=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/minustenthousandhours.bandcamp.com\/track\/wolf-whistle\">Wolf Whistle by Minus Ten Thousand Hours<\/a><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>They were followed by We come in Pieces.<br \/>\n<iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 100%; height: 120px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=3642885166\/size=large\/bgcol=333333\/linkcol=e99708\/tracklist=false\/artwork=small\/transparent=true\/\" seamless=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wecomeinpieces1.bandcamp.com\/album\/stop-the-rot\">Stop The Rot by WE COME IN PIECES<\/a><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Chewie started their set with \u00abSons and mothers\u00bb, one of my favourite songs. It was an amazing show! I had the chance to talk to Stu after the show and got a Chewie t-shirt with the design from <a href=\"https:\/\/chewie.ie\/solace\">Solace<\/a>, their latest \u00absingle\u00bb.
